Liposuction Information

Qualifications

  • Healthy individuals who do not have life-threatening illness or medical conditions that can impair healing.

  • Non-smokers

  • Individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for body contouring.

  • Adults within 30% of their ideal weight who have firm, elastic skin and good muscle tone


Preparation

  • Medical evaluation

  • Take certain medications or adjust your current medications

  • Stop smoking

  • Avoid taking aspirin and certain anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements as they can increase bleeding

  • Be sure to arrange for someone to drive you home after surgery and someone to stay with you the first night following surgery


Recovery

1 month for resolution of swelling. You may be dressed with a compression garment or elastic bandage covering the treatment area(s). This is to help control swelling and compress skin to your body contours. It will take several months for swelling to fully dissipate. As it does, your new contours and enhanced self-image should continue to develop.

  • Contour irregularity ( divot, bulge) < easily corrected with additional procedure

  • Asymmetry

  • Noticeable scarring

Unlikely Complications


Smart Lipo

3 months for resolution of final swelling. You may be dressed with a compression garment or elastic bandage covering the treatment area(s). This is to help control swelling and compress skin to your body contours. You may be sore for several days following your procedure, which your doctor can prescribe painkillers to help you manage your pain. Most people are able to return to work within a few days. As you recover you'll notice your skin may begin to tighten. This firming may continue up to 6 months after your procedure.
